Who should attend?

This workshop is designed for anyone entering or working within Building Management Systems who needs practical, hands‑on experience with multi‑protocol integration. It’s ideal for BMS engineers, controls technicians, commissioning engineers, installation electricians, and system integrators who want to understand how modern building control systems communicate with third‑party devices and networks.

Beginners are fully supported — no formal prerequisites are required, and the course is structured to help delegates with limited BMS experience gain confidence quickly.

Course Sylabus

Integration Networks & Wiring

A practical introduction to the main BMS communication networks used in commercial buildings. Delegates learn how to wire, address and test RS485, MS/TP, M‑Bus and TCP/IP networks using real devices and SIP hardware.

Modbus Integration

Hands‑on exercises covering Modbus RS485 and Modbus TCP/IP. Delegates scan networks, interpret registers, and configure Modbus drivers using Synapsys SIP tools.

BACnet Integration

A clear, practical look at BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP. Delegates configure devices, discover objects, and integrate BACnet networks using SIP+ hardware and BACnet tools.

M‑Bus Integration

Delegates scan, interpret and integrate M‑Bus devices using SIP2 hardware, learning how to read telegrams, collect datapoints and link values into Trend sensors.

SIP Device Configuration & Management

An introduction to SIP discovery, backup/restore, firmware updates and device setup. Delegates learn how to manage SIP, SIP2 and SIP+ devices confidently.

Troubleshooting & Best Practice

Common integration pitfalls, wiring issues, addressing mistakes and practical troubleshooting strategies across all protocols.
